LITERACY
Students will work on poetry. They will discover key terms, characteristics, and figurative language used with poems. Reader’s Theater (plays) will allow the kids to develop props and perform a play in front of the class.
Students will prepare for EOGs by practicing with passages using their Blitz strategies. Continue to work on reading comprehension skills. It would help if students could prove their answers by referencing the text.
WRITING
Students will write 3 paragraph stories (mostly personal narratives). These stories will include a beginning, middle, and ending.
Math
Students will work on telling time to the minute, quarter hour, and half hour. They should work on telling time with an analog clock. Students will work on fractions. They must order fractions from least to greatest & greatest to least, explain equivalent fractions, and compare fractions with like and unlike denominators. Finally, students will continue to review for the Math EOG daily.

SCIENCE
Students will begin to study plants. They will also work on a unit about heat and energy.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will discuss communities and technology. The impact of technological change on communities, both locally and globally. In addition, we will identify global leaders, and characters from folktales and legends.
Students will continue to complete Time for Kids magazines . This publication relates to current events in our state and world.
